4 chalets for between 8 and 23 guests
Developing a distinctive character Lying at 1350m on the road between Le Praz and Méribel, La Tania has become the place in the Three Valleys to initiate your kids into the wonderful world of skiing. It has easy access to the pistes, ski shops with a huge range of kids’ equipment, and ski schools that specialise in lessons for little ones.
Five chalets, two crèches Ten years ago, Le Ski recognised what a popular resort La Tania would become and took over 3 large chalets, complete with a crèche to keep the youngsters occupied whilst their keen parents hit the slopes. It was so successful that we recently added two beautiful newly-built chalets, housing another crèche and forging our reputation in what has become known as ‘the family resort’. Leave your little ones in the capable hands of our trained nannies, and you’ll all enjoy your day. For Winter 2007-8 we have more top quality accommodation in the form of Chalet Michèle which sleeps 8 in great comfort. You can expect to find children in any of our La Tania chalets.
Easy access to the pistes Covered on a Courchevel Valley lift pass, you can access the rest of the valley easily from La Tania, and within 2 lifts you can ski right down into Méribel, and through to Val Thorens. The La Tania area itself features quieter intermediate pistes, with some of the best kept powder to be found on the ‘Dou du Lanches’ sector. There are some wonderful runs back into resort: a long and winding new green run, created in 2005, and the famous undulating tree-lined blue, ‘Folyères’. If you’re not racing back for afternoon tea, stop for a moment and inhale the potent aroma of the pine trees surrounding you.
Tire the kids out before bedtime Just as in Courchevel, there’s entertainment to be found away from the slopes. Kids may love the dogsledding and during holiday periods there’s usually an organised firework display going off somewhere. Good old bumboarding is always a winner, and easily done close to your chalet. Just don’t forget to wrap up warm!
Not just for little ones Grown-ups haven’t been ignored in La Tania. A number of bars have sprung up over the years, and there’s live music to be had most nights, if you can drag yourselves outside after dinner. Pub Le Ski Lodge has become a popular spot for locals and guests alike, with its relaxed atmosphere and good selection of refreshments. There are plenty of opportunities to grab a bite to eat, from pizzas and crèpes to the more sophisticated offerings from Taïga, Telemark and Montana. Le Praz is just along the road, and with the regular free bus service from La Tania all the way up to 1850, you have a number of options for evening’s entertainment.
